I tend rather to regard those ancient writings as poetic utterances of sages and keen thinkers which had a relevance at one time, and which may still be of value in their metaphorical or moral meanings.
But as to ancient coinciding with current actualities or future possibilities, I have some doubts because of my inherent skepticism: a weakness of character, perhaps, that makes many beautiful convictions beyond my comfortable grasp.
Though I don’t envy those who can more easily entertain truths of immense consolatory potential, I am always happy for them.
As for me, I am just content with my own imperfect visions and incomplete understandings of the profounder mysteries, because that imperfection is no less fulfilling to me from my own nebulous perspectives than cocksureness about the correctness of speculative reflections about the unverifiable.
