Most human beings, especially in families and small communities do get along quite well most of the time. The following are some of the factors that tend to spoil good getting along:
1 Ideological conflicts based on the conviction: “I alone have the right view/opinion/answer to s complex human-related question.
2 The conviction: My race/religion/nation is better than yours, and consequent hateful intolerance, often inculcated by some cultural indoctrinations and some passages in religious scriptures.
3 Competition for limited material resources.
4 Fear/feeling (right or wrong) that the other is out to get you. Unfortunate, this is a perennial force that is present implicitly or explicitly in most conversations.
