Q&A: How can a scientist reconcile his or her spiritual beliefs with scientific beliefs?

There is no such thing as a spiritual belief.

There is only spiritual experience.

To marvel at the Universe, feeling awe at its magnificence, admiring the beauty of the butterfly and the serenity of a snow-capped mountain, being lost in a symphony and beiing reverential to the complex biochemistry that sustains me: These are spiritual experiences that I have as a human being and as a scientist too.

They have nothing to do with any belief about or understanding of the world.
