One of the sad features of 21st century cultural awakening, ethnic pride, and victimhood experience is that every minority group in the world feels and announces that there is bias against it, there is discrimination against it, there is phobia towards it, etc. So there are never-ending complaints springing from this feeling of persecution. Numerous books, articles, and internet -exchanges carry such messages.
Some of the groups that feel this most are:
Shias in Sunni countries, sunnis in shia countries, Ahmedias in Pakistan, Muslims in all Non-Muslim countries, , Hindus in Western countries, Communists in the U.S., Whites, Blacks, and Atheists in many countries,….
All are partly right to varying degrees.
My fear is that none of them will ever feel fully recognized and respected enough to their satisfaction as long as there is English and Western hegemony in the global context.
Fortunately, as of now, Buddhists, Jains, punsters, Laplanders, Eskimos, and chocolate-addicts are among those who don’t feel this way (yet).
