Looking down upon people on the basis of their caste or skin color, religion or nationality; hurting physically or emotionally fellow humans; ignoring the anguish of the utterly helpless; not caring at all for the less fortunate in one’s community, nation, or the world; aggrandizing oneself at the expense of others; ridiculing the deeply-held non-hurting religious beliefs of others; holding atheists, homosexuals and others with non-standard sexual orientations in contempt: These are among the many immoral acts we humans are capable of.
What is sad and shocking is that most, perhaps all, of them are avoidable; the arise from misguided and warped values and world-views.
One may or may not belong to a traditional religion to subscribe to this code of ethics.
