AYODHYA KANDA: DASARATHA’S DREAM

Dasaratha had a dream that hinted obstacles to the coronation.

So he asked Rāma to take some sacred vows with his wife Sītā .

Rāma visited with Sītā  his mother Queen  Kausalya  

They received her hearty blessings before retiring that night.

As instructed by the King,  Vasishtha went to Rāma

And the sage asked him and Sītā  to fast that night.

Then he returned to the King to give a report on the matter.

Thereupon Dasaratha called off the assembly for that day.

In accordance with  Vasishtha’s advice  Rāma took a vow

To bathe early next morning after sleeping on kusha grass.

JUBILATION

The the people of Ayodhya decorated their glorious city

Specially for the occasion about which they all had heard.

Large crowds gathered to watch the events for the installation

Of Rāma the Prince Regent of the Ayodhya kingdom.
