PER SPECULATIONS

When humans began to think they began to wonder too

About how we came to be, and why on earth we are.

Some thinkers said we all came from the Waters of the sea,

Some that it was Fire and Air that gave rise to all of us.

The great religions brought in the idea

Of a Creator God Who made the entire world.

They therefore said that we must thank that God

With  chants and hymns of praise, and worship Him thus.

This we  must do in order to express our gratitude

For experiencing the world for a  brief  span of time.

PER CURRENT SCIENCE

BIG BANG

Current science tells us something that is very different:

It happened that the Cosmos burst forth from complete naught

Into a spatial void  interlinked to a steady temporal flow.

Space serves as the container for matter and energy.

Ceaseless Time-flow is the channel for constant change.

Thus it says that the fabric of the world is just Space-Time.

This burst of emergence  of the Cosmos that  we perceive

Is picturesquely described by scientists as the Big Bang.

It was not that big compared to the Universe’s current size,

Nor was it a bang that anyone then could hear.

To  this Space-Time  arena were added the Laws of Nature

That led to the formation of countless different things.

The myriad entities that emerged range from the very simple

To extremely complex ones, all forming the physical world.
