WONDERMENT & UNIVERSAL TRUTH

Not long after consciousness was embedded in human brains,

We began to wonder how this our world came to be.

Then followed the question as to why it began at all.

Indeed, the question of origins soon became an obsession.

We may never know for sure the reason for existence.

The only Truth we seem to know is that all life-forms on Earth:

Plants, microbes, birds and beasts have a beginning,

That all grow and live for a time, then all of them die.

This is so with all creations:  good, bad, material, abstract,

Cities with grand buildings, and all cultures great and modest.

We also sometimes wonder how and why civilizations

Rise and grow and fall gradually and fade away from life.

Some of them that fall now and then e-emerge and thrive.

The resurgence of some cultures is an aspect of today’s world.

If and when some of them  re-emerge in ancient modes

That could really  spell disaster for one and all of us.
