1 WHO AM I

There’s something that feels,

something that thinks,

Something that eats and something that  drinks

Something which says: ‘tis My and  only Me:

That something is what I call I.

This I is for Me alone to keep,

Whether I’m awake or asleep.

With its own body and its own face

It’s all alone in the stretch of space.

Yet, it is  part of the Cosmic Whole

I know not with or without a goal.

In the world’s very long  history

I has always been a grand mystery.

What will cause the end of the world?

The world will never end for eons.

It will keep transforming ceaselessly.

IF and when it ends there will be Cosmic stillness for ever…

What do faith and science give us?

Faith gives hope, solace and inner peace to individuals with a believing heart, and it incites intolerance in brainwashed and misguided minds.

Science gives knowledge and action-power to humanity, impacts on and serves even those who  decry and don’t understand it.

Do prayers mitigate our problems? I don’t know. All I can say is that prayer calms troubled, concerned and bereaved  minds, brings hope to despondent hearts, and lifts up the spirit of those who pray. Prayer can do good, but only to those who pray with sincerity.
